Instructor: Leighton Y. Huey, M.D.
Leighton Y. Huey, M.D. is the Associate Dean for Community & Continuing Medical Education and the Birnbaum/Blum Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. He previously was Associate Dean for Community & Continuing Medical Education, and prior to that, Chair of Psychiatry at the University of Connecticut. He also has served as Vice-Chair and Medical Director in Psychiatry at Dartmouth Medical School, as well as Medical Director in the Scripps Memorial system in La Jolla. He completed his residency at the University of California, San Diego, after which he joined the faculty there. He has a strong interest in health care reform and in the meaningful integration of behavioral health into physical health care. He is very interested in health care moving “upstream” to engage with communities in the social determinants of health.
